Horse-racing
is a fun-filled day of entertainment for many of those
who choose to visit our Idaho tracks, whether it is
for live or simulcast horse-racing. Many people believe
horse racing is simply about gaming. That belief could
not be further from the truth. Most owners and breeders
get into the sport for the love of the horses, and patrons
of the sport enjoy many aspects of horse-racing, one
of those aspects includes wagering on the outcome of
horse-races.
 Idaho
Wins, Inc. is an organization which is actively researching
other forms of revenue to save and revitalize Idaho’s
horse-racing industry as a whole, and in turn save the
many jobs the industry employs, bring more horses back
to our state, strengthen Idaho’s economy and increase
tax revenue in our state to help support vital services
such as education. This educational piece is meant to
inform the citizens of Idaho about the history of horse-racing,
the decline of horse-racing, the current state of our
horse-racing industry, and the importance of the horse-racing
industry to our economy in Idaho. Most importantly,
we have found that many other states have added a profitable
way in which to increase the vitality of horse-racing;
benefiting both the citizens of their states, and the
industry by sustaining and adding more jobs, while increasing
tax revenue by tens of millions of dollars annually.
For Idaho’s horses, owners, breeders, and those
who are directly affected by the industry; contributions
are invited and welcomed from those people and organizations
who wish to participate in the effort to bring back
a healthy horse-racing industry in Idaho.
